The commandments for the son

In the book of proverbs there's a list of actions that the son needs to do in his life in order to prevent the sin. When you learn the Biblical Hebrew, you understand that the meaning of the word son doesn’t relate just to the age or the lack of experience- it's a matter of life and death, according to the son's behavior.
One of the most important passages in the Hebrew Bible is the Ten Commandants, as written:
No questions here!
"“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you."(Exodus 20:12)
These words are for the sons of Israel. As they are the sons of G-d, they are also the sons of their parents. They can't avoid them, they must respect them. If they won’t do it- they won't live enough.
In Deuteronomy we meet a son that didn’t respect his parents, and this would create a horrible destiny for him and his family, as written:
"If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father and mother and will not listen to them when they discipline him,  his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. They shall say to the elders, “This son of ours is stubborn and rebellious. He will not obey us. He is a glutton and a drunkard.”  Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid."
This is a son, whose name can be also the rebellious son, and he lacks hearing and listening to his parents, both mother and father. If the process of making him understand and listen to his parents didn’t succeed, his life will end in a tragic way; he would be put to death in the city's gate in front of the entire congregation, by stoning. The sages of Israel tried to avoid this case to be a true reality in the life of the community. Though that there was one sage, who told them that he saw a stubborn and rebellious son, the majority of the sages answered him: there was never this kind of son. This son according to the sages needed to eat special meat that is called "tartimar" and needed to drink an exact amount of wine, his parents needed to look really similar in their appearance and only if those terms existed he could be this kind of son.
We are lucky to have the book of Proverbs that tried to give us another aspect of the son and the dangerous events that he could have in his life, as written:
There's only one way!
"My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding —indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds success in store for the upright; he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. Then you will understand what is right and just and fair—every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard you. Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men, from men whose words are perverse"(Proverbs 2:1-12)
All we need dear friends is listening and hearing, to the words of our parents, to the words of G-d, to his commandments. It's ok not to always agree, but we must honor our creators- they and our G-d gave us the opportunity to live!
Have a blessed week, Eli
